Every October, the global Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SBH) community comes together to raise awareness, share experiences, and strengthen our collective voice. This year’s theme ‘Accelerate Action for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus’ (#Action4SBH) inspired a powerful global movement of advocacy, creativity, and solidarity.

We are delighted to announce that this year’s WSBHD25 Challenge Winner is Fekadu Yadessa, whose entry received over 800 likes, comments, and shares across IF’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn). Through his powerful message, Fekadu called for #Action4SBH on prevention through food fortification with folic acid in Ethiopia.

On 25 October, the World Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Day Conference will once again bring together advocates, health professionals, researchers, and policymakers from around the world. This year’s event will explore how we - together with you - can accelerate action to close persistent gaps and strengthen the global SBH community. Join us for this webinar!

This IF Members Training will strengthen the capacity of persons with SBH to speak up for their rights, influence change, and represent their communities locally and globally. Through peer-led sessions, interactive discussions, and real-life examples, participants will gain tools to become confident advocates for inclusion and human rights.

This webinar will bring together regional experts, healthcare professionals, and advocates to share progress, highlight challenges, and explore collaborative strategies to strengthen the prevention and care of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SBH) across Asia-Pacific Region. 

On 22 October 2025, the African region will come together to mark World Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Day (WSBHD25) through a dynamic Regional Side Event. This regional gathering will spotlight the power of community engagement, innovation, and advocacy in advancing the prevention of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SBH) across Africa.
