The 1st Euregional Youth Meeting

Description

The 1st Euregional Youth Meeting

On December 3, 2024, the United Nations will call for extra attention worldwide for human rights and equal opportunities for people with disabilities. On the occasion of this day and the 75th anniversary of the Zonnebloem, two European youth groups are organising a 1st Euregional Youth Meeting for young people (18-35 years) with a physical disability in Geleen, Limburg.

The youth groups of Zonnebloem Jong Westelijke Mijnstreek and the International Federation for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus in Brussels are committed to young people with a physical disability. On December 3, 2024, they will jointly organise a meeting for and by young people entitled:

‘Youth crosses borders to meet and exchange on the topic of Independent Living’.

This event is a unique opportunity for 50 young people (18-35 years) from Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands to meet new young people with different forms of physical disabilities, literally cross borders and delve further into fresh and meaningful discussions. Interactive components during this day are organised to explore topics that are a priority for young people, such as: self-reliance, mental health, accessibility and social relationships.

In short, an event by and for young people! Interested people who belong to the target group can send an email to: [email protected], however full = full.
