Proposal to host the IF 32nd International Conference on Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus in 2028

Several IF member associations have expressed interest in hosting the 32nd International Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Conference in the fall of 2028. If your organisation is chosen to host the IF conference 2028, the IF Board of Directors will work closely with you to ensure smooth planning of the conference. We need some information from you to ensure that we can make the best choice of a host. This information relates primarily to the local and financial organisation, as the scientific program will be developed in collaboration with IF.

Deadline for submission of this application: November 1, 2025.

You will be notified of the decision of the IF Board by February 2026.

• What are your reasons for wanting to host the conference?
• Where do you propose to hold the conference? What dates? (usually 2.5 days and based on 250 attendees). Include information on the conference center, and the offer from the center for costs to hold the conference.
• Would you plan to hold an associated meeting such as training for local professionals or a meeting for parents or adults with SBH?
• What are the available options for inexpensive lodging?
• What are the easiest ways to get to the center by air or train?
• Which local organisations/research clinics/university departments will work with you?
• How do you plan to cover the costs (Each conference has to cover its own expenses, based on registration fees and additional fund-raising)?
