IF Statement on Mental, Physical and Sexual Health for Youth with SBH

27 December 2021

As the year draws to a close IF celebrates the publication of the IF Statement on mental, physical and sexual health for youth with SBH.

In this statement IF draws on the important work of the SBH youth community over the past years on topics such as sexuality, mental and physical health. Through these activities it has been highlighted how these issues are irretrievably interlinked. Therefore, a statement has been published to bring awareness of the needs and rights of youth with SBH. To facilitate greater understanding of how stigma, social isolation, relationships and access to health and multidisciplinary care interact together create barriers to the full realisation of the human rights and potential of youth with SBH.

In this statement IF summarises the concerns raised by the SBH community and presents its recommendations to policy makers, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to advance the rights of persons with SBH to achieve the highest attainable standard of health, wellbeing and social inclusion.
