Ageing is a natural part of life, but for individuals living with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SBH), it can come with unique challenges and considerations. To address these challenges and promote a better quality of life for those ageing with SBH, the International Federation for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (IF) is hosting an enlightening webinar on Sunday, October 1, 2023, in commemoration of the International Day of Older Persons.

On October 1 - the International Day of Older Persons we seize the opportunity to shed light on the unique experiences of ageing with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. IF aims to raise awareness on the barriers that older individuals with SBH may encounter and, most importantly, the urgent need to dismantle these barriers.

During the World Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Day several activities are organised to take place during October as awareness month. From October 1 to October 30 IF together with IF Members give special attention to regional events with all a different focus to the WSBHD23 theme of this year 'Accessibility for All'. You are invited to take part in the different activities!

The annual IF Training for Members on Fundraising! This year, IF identified fundraising and advocacy as two of the high priority concerns for the SBH community. It was also highlighted that members showed concern and challenges with initiating advocacy work and reaching out to policy makers with limited resources. With that in mind, IF chose fundraising and UNCRPD principles as the basic elements for advocacy where IF members can learn basic tools during the IF members training.  When? November & December.
