IF Members Training: From Local to Global – How to influence international actions through national advocacy
Description
IF is excited to announce that the next IF members training on policy and advocacy will take place on May 6 2022 at 12 PM Brussels time (Check out your timezone here).
Actions on the international level taken by International organisations such as the United Nations (UN), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Union (EU) have tremendous influence over the direction of policies, such as disability rights, public health, nutrition and social policies, which are of high importance to the SBH community. While these actions are decided upon in cities such as New York, Brussels and Geneva, the push for change comes from the national level and having the voices of the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus community be loud and visible in these actions is vital to advance the rights and needs of persons with SBH.
In light of this IF has put together a training session for IF members on how to influence international actions through national advocacy titled “From local to global: How to influence international actions through national advocacy”.
The training session takes place online via Zoom, on 6th of May 12:00 – 13:00 CEST.
The training session will explain the process of which international actions are created. IF together with speakers will discuss the role of civil society in shaping the activities of international organisations and how campaigns for actions are designed and implemented. Most importantly, the training will demonstrate how national SBH associations can make a change.
