The 1st EUregional Meeting for Youth

The IF Youth Group SBH together with the youth group from the Dutch NGO Zonnebloem Jong organise a 1st EUregional Youth Event. This is an opportunity for your youth members to meet new young people with experience of living with disability to cross borders and dive in fresh and meaningful discussions.

EUREGIONAL YOUTH EVENT

Theme: “Youth crosses borders to meet and exchange on the topic on Independent Living”.

Organisers: Zonnebloem Afdeling Jong Westelijke Mijnstreek & Youth Group International Federation for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.

Participants: 50 youth (18-35 years) from the EUregion.

Date: 3rd of December 2024 as part of the European Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Location: The Biesenhof, a stunning farm accessible for the participants to relax and enjoy! Address: Biesenhof 1, 6164 RB Geleen, the Netherlands.

Programme: A day programme from 10.00h – 16.00h including presentations from the different youth groups in the EUregion (optional for your youth group members) as well as interactive games covering topics such as independent living. There is also a possibility to join the dinner afterwards.

IF fully supports this meeting to the fullest as it is organised by and for youth. While English is not a first-base language for any of the organisers, they have found ways to connect and work towards this exciting event to make at inclusive for all participants. It truly is exciting to see how the youth seeks connection with each other across borders.
