Who we are

We are the International Federation for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (IF). IF was founded by people with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SBH) and their families in 1979. Over the years, it has grown from a voluntary association into a professional organisation of persons with disabilities (OPD) with global coverage, democratic structure and transparent and accountable processes.

IF has active members around the globe. The majority are organisations led and governed by adults with SBH or parents of children with SBH.

By raising awareness, and through political advocacy, research, community building and human rights education, IF aims to:

  • Improve the quality of life of people with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus and their families;
  • Reduce the prevalence of neural tube defects and Hydrocephalus by primary prevention.

What we are looking for

At IF, we are looking for a company to:

  • Develop and design a new, modern, user-friendly and up-to-date website;
  • Transfer all content from the current website to the new one;
  • Maintain IF website and intervene when assistance is needed.

The successful company should:

  • Have proven experience with accessible and inclusive design;
  • Have strong knowledge and understanding of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) international standard and the EU Web Accessibility Directive;
  • Run accessibility tests and provide proof of accessibility level WCAG 2.1 AA;
  • Have proven experience working with disability and human rights organisations;
  • Be registered in an EU country;
  • Demonstrate a portfolio with similar projects;
  • Provide IF staff with training and guidelines to be able to manage and update the website autonomously;
  • Be able to work in English;
  • Be able to start working on this project asap.

Requirements

IF’s new website should respond to the following needs:

  • Easy to use and navigate for everyone including first time visitors;
    Presenting IF’s work in a clear, coherent and attractive way;
  • Organising IF’s publications in various ways including by. year, topic and alphabetical order;
  • Supporting the integration of social media platforms, as well as videos.
    Improving its SEO and visibility on Google;
  • Ensuring that all functionalities are measurable and trackable via Google Analytics;
  • Being future-proof expecting it will evolve over the time with new improvements and features;
  • Allowing IF team autonomy by having a backend that is intuitive and easy to use by its staff who will manage it daily;
  • Supporting the development of an e-learning portal in the future.

Timeline

Please submit your offer in euro including:

  • The cost in total, as well as broken down into different categories that allow to have a comprehensive understanding;
  • A portfolio with samples of relevant work;
  • A short explanation of how you meet the requirements of the call;
  • A realistic timeline from start to completion.
