UGANDA (SGU)

Shared Growth Uganda (SGU) IS a non-profit, non-governmental, community-based civil service organization, currently operating in Kitayunjwa Sub County of Kamuli District in Eastern Uganda.  Founded in January 2020, SGU seeks to combat poverty through grassroots cooperation in order to reduce the burden of social and economic self-sustenance. The organization is duly registered with the Kitayunjwa Sub County Local Government under Reg. No. KIT/115/2022.

As part of our public health education mandate we chose to focus on congenital illnesses, in particular, Spina Bifida and hydrocephalus, about which most people are ignorant. The plight of children with congenital illnesses is heartrending as most are simply left to die due to ignorance of possible remedies and care.

The purpose of this letter is to apprise you of our plan to gather information about these diseases and teach people in your village about them in the coming months. We therefore request your support, cooperation and advise mobilizing the people for these important activities.
