The Danish association Rygmarvsbrokforeningen of 1988 aims to:

• Support parents with a child with spina bifida and / or hydrocephalus in order to ensure the necessary psychological and practical support for child development.
• Support the work for better conditions for adults with spina bifida and / or hydrocephalus.
• Let the children / adolescents with spina bifida and / or hydrocephalus meet to support their personal development through interaction with peers and share experiences.
• Contribute to information about assistive technology, for the greatest possible extent to become self-reliant.
• Informing the authorities of the association and its potential for assistance to families in the same situation.
• Guidance to educators, teachers and other professionals about children’s and young people’s needs and opportunities.

The association is for people with spina bifida and / or hydrocephalus and their parents / foster parents. The association is formed by parents of children / adolescents with spina bifida and adults with spina bifida and / or hydrocephalus.
