HUNGARY

The Section of People with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus within the National Federation of Disabled Persons’ Associations (MEOSZ) is a self-help, advocacy group. It was set up to join adults and parents of children with SBH living in Hungary to help them to improve quality of life through support in specific health conditions. Our aim is that adults and children can live full and dignified life in an inclusive society. Our members offer peer counseling, through email or phone. For this we strive to build a range of connections in the fields of health care, rehabilitation, education and employment. Our most important task is at first to map what possibilities are available for adults with SBH in order to maintain physical condition. To be effective, we need more active members who share their experience and knowledge.
