WHA78 & Lived Realities, Global Responsibility: Accelerating Action on Micronutrient Deficiencies
Description
For many of us, the consequences of micronutrient deficiencies are not abstract, they are personal. They are found in stories of children born with spina bifida, of mothers battling anemia, of communities struggling with preventable health challenges. These are not isolated cases. They are the lived experiences of millions, and they demand action.
Join us in advancing this cause at the event: “Accelerating Action on Micronutrient Deficiencies and Their Consequences, Including Spina Bifida: Delivering on WHA 76.19 through Large-Scale Food Fortification”, May 20 6-8.30PM CEST in Geneva and online.
This event is more than a policy discussion. It’s a platform for voices from affected communities and a call to translate global commitments into national action. WHA Resolution 76.19 is a critical step forward, but its success depends on sustained advocacy, political will, and the technical support needed to reach every family, everywhere.
Co-hosted by the Government of the Philippines, Bangladesh, Egypt, Pakistan and Chile, this event brings together a powerful coalition including UNICEF, GAIN, GAPSBiF, FFI, Future Fortified, G4 Alliance, IFSBH, IGN, Micronutrient Forum, Nutrition International, and WFP.
Together, let’s make large-scale food fortification a reality for all—because every child deserves a chance at a healthy life.
