Cato Lie Elected President of the International Federation for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus
Cato Lie is the new President of IF – The International Federation for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. He succeeds the former president Elena Zappoli from the Asociación para Espina Bifida e Hidrocefalia (APEBI) in Argentina.
IF is the international organization representing people with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SBH) and their families worldwide. The organization founded in 1979, represents Member Associations in countries all over the world with unique and expert knowledge on SBH.
Cato is a man with Spina Bifida and has extensive work experience in both private and public sector in the fields of marketing of assistive technology, financial management and logistics. He has a masters’ degree in business administration (MBA) from Handelsakademiet in Oslo.
Since 2002, he has worked for the Norwegian Federation of Organizations of Disabled People (FFO), the Norwegian Federation of Organizations of Disabled People. For the past ten years, he has been responsible for FFOs policy on universal design and accessibility in all areas of society, buildings and housing, transport and ICT as a political adviser.
In his representative positions, he has moreover served as board member for FFO (the Norwegian Federation of Organizations of Disabled People) and as chairman of TRS at Sunnaas hospital, which provide services to people with SBH.
In the past six years, Cato has been an active IF Board Member while representing IF Member Association Ryggmargsbrokk- og Hydrocephalusforeningen in Norway. He will now serve his last term in consecutive fashion.
